The Process
Pre-Clean Survey

The pre-inspection process involves a walk-through visual inspection in order to establish the type and general condition of the carpet (wear, high traffic areas), PH testing, dye bleed testing and identification of potential stains.
Fibre identification is a critical part of the initial survey as it will greatly influence the chemical selection and method of cleaning. Fibre testing and ideally discussion with the client to establish if a carpet has been professionally cleaned previously or if an attempt has been made to remove stains, will determine if a stain is permanent (set) or can be removed. Natural carpets that are wool based require very special attention
During this survey we check the condition of carpet fixings and backings. This is an important step as many are prone to shrinkage or bleeding if the cleaning process or chemical selection is incorrect.
Only from a survey can we select the most effective treatments and methods.

Pile Preparation and Pre-Vacuuming
A commercial vacuum cleaner can extract 80% of the dirt and soil particles held within the carpet fibres. Prior to power vacuuming the pile is reversed to release matted fibres for more effective cleaning. We then vacuum the entire area even if there is no visible dirt. This preparation before cleaning largely determines its success and yet it is often dismissed by many professionals as unnecessary. Failure to follow this simple step will turn dry dust into mud which can lead to early re-soiling after the fibres dry and leaves a dull overall result.

Pre-Spray
Because there are stains that vacuum cleaners cannot take out (oil and stubborn greases, tea & coffee, organic stains), we apply an appropriate pre-spray to break down, suspend and loosen such stains. Agitation of the pre-treatment chemical is then carried out by CRB (contra rotating brush) machine or teflon rake (with a more delicate carpet). The carpet is then subject to a dwell time of up to 30 minutes to allow the chemical to do its job.
Cleaning and Extracting

We use a hot water extraction cleaning procedure that cleans your carpet to its backing (to remove chemicals, pollen and bacteria). A PH balanced carpet cleaning solution or rinse agent is applied using the Airflex Storm 800 professional carpet cleaning machine for optimal residue and dirt removal from your carpet. This leaves the carpet at the same PH as your skin and conforms to the NCCA guidelines. The machines powerful twin vacuum pumps are capable of removing 90% of the injected water which markedly reduces drying times.
Stain /Spot Removal

Once the carpet has been cleaned any residual stain or spot removal can be attempted using a range of stain specific products. In every case this process is finished using the hot water process described above using the Airflex hand wand to remove chemical residues.
Re-dress Pile

On satisfactory completion, the carpet or fabric pile must be correctly set. This is done using a pile comb. Depending on the methods used, drying times will be between 2-4 hours whilst the remaining moisture evaporates.

Post-Clean Final Inspection
Finally, a post-cleaning inspection is undertaken to ensure that desired results are achieved. A follow up call will be made to ensure your complete satisfaction.
Scotchgard

Specialists recommend Scotchgard after a thorough deep cleaning, especially when done on a professional level. As best results are achieved when the carpet is still slightly moist. This is the way to ‘seal’ cleanliness and shine for a much longer period.
What Is Stain Protector

Stain protector also known as Scotchgard Protector is an invisible clear liquid applied after the cleaning process. It surrounds each fibre of the carpet or upholstery with an invisible protective coating which makes the carpet resistant to everyday soiling and both water-based and oil-based stains. Its purpose is to guard the fabric against penetration of liquids that lead to lasting stains and permanent damage to the carpet and upholstery.
